She received numerous awards and scholarships during her tertiary studies in Auckland and has participated in various music festivals and competitions including ROSL, Wallace International music festival, Gisborne International music competition and Lee University International Piano Festival.
She has been teaching both privately and in institutions since 2009 producing outstanding students. As a dedicated collaborative pianist, she has performed extensively throughout New Zealand with various ensembles and choirs. She has built a unique connection with the North Shore Youth Music with director Vanessa Kay since 2009 and frequently embarks tours with talented students; their most recent tour held in Tasmania. From time to time, she flies to third-world countries as part of a missionary group to teach music.
Rachel passion especially extends toward these groups:
1. Young beginner students to set up and build healthy habits. Having the correct foundation is extremely vital.
2. Young adults who wish to further their music studies at tertiary level or beyond. As she is a pianist who grew up in New Zealand, her knowledge about the education system and music industry is vast and she is always willing to share the knowledge with her students who wish to become a performer or a music teacher.
